László Moholy-Nagy: Photography, Photomontages & Photograms Book Design
For my History of Design mid-term I had to choose an
For my History of Design mid-term I had to choose an
art movement & an artist from that particular movement
who had a major impact in shaping that movement & write
an essay on it. After that, I had to design a book cover &
page layouts based on the essay I had written. My movement
was Bauhaus & my artist was Moholy-Nagy.
For the book cover, existing artwork by the artist was
to be used so I used one of Moholy-Nagy's photomontage.
As for the overall page layouts, I knew after reading up
on Moholy-Nagy that he himself used to do Graphic Design
layouts for his own books & for others so I took inspiration
from one of his books called 'Painting, Photography, Film'.
